Electronic Surveillance Technologies Corp. specializes in communication systems design and integration, customized engineering, encryption and research and development projects for U.S. Government agencies..

EST is a privately-held corporation chartered under the laws of the State of Delaware. And, by its charter, the company does nolt sell or service equipment within the commercial arena. EST is a U.S. Government contractor, with a large proportion of its staff currently holding U.S. Government-issued security clearances.

Advanced research and development projects are conducted in concert with an Albuquerque, N.M. "think tank" that is set up as a non-profit research and development (to the prototype stage) 501.C.3 Research Institute. EST's chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Michael Hanratty, is an Associate Fellow of the Institute.

EST, and Mr. Hanratty specifically, are consultants to the U.S. Army's Intelligence and Security Command's (INSCOM) Force Modernization Directorate, as well as to certain groups within the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Department of Justice and to select offices within the U.S. Department of State.

Due to the nature of, and the context of our governmental and research-oriented business, EST has chosen not to handle commercial accounts. The company's board of directors instead chose to incorporate a wholly-owned subsidiary company which by its charter would handle commercial accounts both domestically and in the international arena, offering some but obviously not all of the same equipment as EST. The name for this chosen enterprise is APPLIED COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGIES, or ACT.
